                                 WILL SORIANO SHAPE MANCHESTER CITY?

Former FC Barcelona financial vice-president,Ferran Soriano was appointed as the Chief Exucutive of Manchester City club back on 1 september 2012.He is expected to better the financial position of the club to reach the UEFA rules. Many experts have commented on his appointment but the outstanding question is whether his aim is to reach his former employer’s level.
Over some years, the Citys have been criticized by buying players who have for long ignoring the young talents. However,Soriano when being interviewed last week, spoke his mind on the need to capitalize on talent and equal balance as the key formula to success of a club. ‘If you asked me the formula for a winning team I’d reply that I don’t know, but an approximation would be an equation that a winning team equals balance and a high commitment to talent.’He said.
In his concluding remarks, he also assured that coming up with a system of nurturing talents and winning consistently is not only a dream but achievable and requires much commitment and investment. Soriano served in FC Barcelona between 2003-2008 and in 2009 was elected as the chairman of the Gatalan-based airline, Spaniar, before the City call.
During this interview,Soriano also explained how Messi was nurtured in the acardemy and came out as success. He also use analogies to show the differences in players in terms of the system they pass through. More are still to come as we wait to see if the Spaniad will help improve soccer in Manchester City and in England.
